The Women’s International Music Network (The WiMN) announces that the 2018 She Rocks Awards will be held at the new House of Blues Anaheim. This event will proceed on Friday, January 26, 2018 during the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show. Now in its sixth year, the She Rocks awards consistently draws music icons, artists, fans and the media. This award honors cutting-edge females from all areas of the music and audio industries.
The WiMN is an organization whose mission is to serve as an advocate for women in the music business and to showcase and recognize these important figures as role models in their field. The awards ceremony is designed to commend extraordinary women of talent and initiative. This one-of-a-kind event offers high-energy performances by female artists, as well as networking opportunities, giveaways, a silent auction and much more.
Past winners of the award include multi-platinum artist Colbie Caillat; legendary percussionist Shelia E.; iconic performer Chaka Khan and rock guitarist/singer/songwriter Lita Ford. The award also highlights women who work behind the scenes of the music industry, such as the CEO of Experience Hendrix, Janie Hendrix, and Karrie Keyes, founder of Soundgirls and monitor engineer for Pearl Jam.
Previous shows have included dazzling performances by The Bangles, Karmin, Mindi Abair, Orianthi and Nina Strauss among others.
Joe Lamond, NAMM president and CEO, states how the She Rocks Awards have gone “from a morning meeting at the Marriott just a few short years ago, to now being one of the most popular events during the NAMM Show.”
