We know that with Guavaween and Gasparilla, the Tampa Bay region certainly has its own personal brand of revelry. And now it appears that our unique celebrations are being appreciated nationwide.

Tampa Bay has been ranked the 7th– best city in the United States to party through Oktoberfest by WalletHub. Although Orlando ranked 5th overall, Tampa had the 2nd-most affordable event tickets. Other factors that put it near the top of the list were the numbers of pretzel shops, breweries and parties per capita.

Oktoberfest may be so popular in the Tampa Bay area because it is home to 40% of the breweries in the state of Florida. Ever since the very first Oktoberfest held in 1810 Bavaria, the celebration has been associated with plenty of beer. Having attracted national attention for our craft brew as well, the feisty festival fits in just fine in these parts.

If you’re looking to enjoy some German culture, beer, or both, check out the local events that are part of what has cleverly been dubbed “Craftober”—a celebration of our vibrant craft beer scene…to keep the party going all month long!
