Fast, Efficient and…Electric?

If you are intrigued by the concept of an electric car, but worry that it won’t have enough get-up-and-go…meet Tesla’s newest Model S and X vehicles. Tesla Motor Inc. Chief Executive Elon Musk has announced a new upgraded battery pack for performance versions of these models. The 100-kilowatt hour battery enhances the car’s performance by extending its range and increasing acceleration. It will be the world’s fastest accelerating automobile in production, according to Musk. “These are very profound milestones that I think will help convince people around the world that electric is the future,” Musk said in a recent conference call with journalists.

With this new battery pack the Tesla can now take you as far as 300 miles—that’s from Key Largo to Orlando—all in one efficient charge. And both models can hit 60 MPH in approximately 2.5 seconds. Zoom zoom indeed! Read more about this new automotive advancement at tesla.com.
