Biking is terrific exercise, and a great way to enjoy the outdoors. One of the best things about cycling in Florida is the weather—you can bike comfortably pretty much all year round. What’s not so great, however, are the dangers of riding on poorly lit roads, in areas without clearly marked bike lanes. Snap an LED laser light onto the mount of your seat post, and the problem is solved! Well, maybe not solved, but at least seriously addressed. Drawing attention to yourself in this way is one safety measure that could one day be as common as putting on a helmet. By creating a four-foot-wide bubble of space, you are announcing yourself more directly to drivers, and outlining a buffer area they should steer clear of. Some more sophisticated models even project a bright image on the ground of a cyclist—like on a road sign—as an extra cautionary step.
